Connection

Dunbar states that we can only have meaningful connections with around 150 people (first proposed by British anthropologist Robin Dunbar, 1990's, this limit is a direct function of relative neocortex size). By asking the public to send us an image that represents them, this project seeks to explore how we define relationships, connections and indeed representations of ourselves in this modern paradigm.

First commissioned by QuaysCulture for LightWaves, and Glow RHS Bridgewater 2022, produced in collaboration with Emma Denby. The images are interchangeable and it’s ready for its next commission.
